Exhibitions, film cycles, family activities, dance and theater works, concerts, classical music, popular running events … and at night, the best DJ sessions and parties for all tastes. There are hundreds of things to do and see in Madrid during this first month of the year. Check out the best leisure plans for January 2019 in Madrid.

Visit the Motor market (Museo del Ferrocarril)

After the Christmas feasts there are several plans you can do, for example, the weekend of Saturday 13th  and Sunday 14th at the Railway Museum we can find the Motor Market. This pop-up market is held once a month at this historic Railway Museum in Madrid, located in the neighborhood of Delicias. In this market you can find emerging designers, stalls selling vintage or second-hand clothes, decorative items, food stalls and even bicycles. The most curious thing about this market is that in between your purchases, you can get into an old train wagon and see how they were inside many winters ago.

Location: Paseo de las Delicias 82 & 101 (Metro/Cercanias Delicias).

Dates: Saturday from 11h to 22h Sunday from 11h to 21h

Celebrating Fitur 2019

This month the Fitur is also celebrated in the capital from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 January at IFEMA, at the Feria de Madrid in Campo de las Naciones. Fitur is the International Tourism Fair, where millions of professionals of the sector meet and exhibit their products, it is also a good opportunity to plan our next vacation. It is a fabulous opportunity to taste foods from all around the world! We highly recommend being adventurous and curious in trying exotic dishes. An additional way to enjoy Fitur as foodies is to attend the showcooking events, food tasting and other culinary demonstrations.

Location: Av. Partenón, Nº 5

Madrid Fresh Produce Market (Mercado de Productores)

At this market, meet about 90 fresh produce artisans and farmers with their harvest from the region of Madrid. In this way you can actually get your food directly from the producer. On the other hand, you will help rural agriculture thrive and gain visibility. If you love ecological produce and traditional consumption, then this is your market! Be sure to also try some of the cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, artisan beers, olives, organic honey, homemade bread, wine and vermouth while there. Another reason why we love this market is its family focus. There will be talks, tastings, demonstrations plus other gastronomy related events. Madrid Productores a special ambience family and friends to enjoy a quality time surrounded by conscientious consumers.
