Spanish cuisine in Madrid

Spanish cuisine in Madrid is one of the major attractions when you visit us. In fact,  Madrid is a definitely heaven for foodies. In Madrid you will find a wide range of tapas bars, restaurants and pastry shops offering the best of Spanish regional food. You will also find a wide variety of international cuisine, as the city is a metropolitan hosting people from different provinces within Spain and visitors from all over the world.

Tapas

A visit to Madrid without tasting the world famous tapas is not complete. It’s like visiting Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. At first you must know that tapas are not a particular type of food; tapas is sort of little meals that Spanish people eat any time of the day or night, anywhere. Some cities like Granada, Madrid & even Barcelona provide tapas for free every time you order a drink in a bar or a pub. Pinchos

The best tapas you can ever have when you visit Spain are most probably in Madrid since it is in the middle of the country and has the biggest central market. There are many popular tapas bars where you can have a nice plate with mini almonds, sandwiches ,squids or other snacks for free. You just pay for the drink.

Tortilla Espanola

This traditional Spanish tortilla or omelette always made of potatoes, eggs, onion, salt, and pepper. It is most frequently eaten dish in the country.

Paella is a traditional rice dish originated in Valencia. The most typical spice is saffron that is why the yellow color. There are three common types of paella:
Paella Valenciana (White rice, land snails, beans, and spices, vegetables, and rabbit meat). This is the original, the real thing.
Seafood Paella or Paella de Marisco (Rice, seafood, also lots of vegetables, different spices and seasoning).
Paella Mixta, (A freestyle mixture of above two). They usually use ingredients like chicken, prawns, calamari

Gazpacho

Which is a Andalusian cuisine, generally made from cucumber, tomatoes, onion, garlic, wine vinegar, olive oil, salt, water and bread crumbs.

It is served as a cold soup, refreshing and healthy like a salad. Perfect as a summer time starter. Similar is “Salmorejo” that comes with ham and hard egg traces. While it is not cooked, it’s still regarded as delicatessen cuisine in Spain.

Crema catalana is a Spanish custard dessert. This tasty & creamy dessert is made with milk, cream, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, orange cinnamon and peel.

Most of the people say this mayonnaise Allioli actually originates from the Middle East . It is a Catalan sauce made with garlic, olive oil, and salt.

Queso Manchego

(Spanish Sheep Cheese)

Manchego Cheese is a buttery but hard cheese with a satiny texture that is served with Membrillo. Manchego unmistakable taste can’t be replicated anywhere else in the world. It is the most famous in the Spanish gastronomy.

It is the favorite and most consumed cheeses with in whole Spain.
